Welcome to EFSA Quierschied – The European College of Geriatric Care
With a rapidly ageing society, Germany is facing a shortage of qualified nursing staff. Between 1999 and 2013, the number of people who are dependent on care rose to 2,7 million. This number could almost double to 4,7 million by the year 2060.
Right in the very heart of Europe, in the town of Quierschied, our internationally-oriented European College of Geriatric Care (EFSA) offers foreign students ideal starting conditions for a professional future with bright prospects: they can follow a training programme for registered geriatric nurses (m/f) or take the next step up the career ladder by completing a dual bachelor degree course at the University of Cooperative Education in Health and Social Services.

OUR SCHOOL AT A GLANCE:
- Three-year training programme for registered geriatric nurses (m/f)
- Three-and-a-half-year bachelor degree course in geriatric care
- Theory and language classes take place at our College for Geriatric Care in Quierschied.
- Theoretical knowledge is put into practice at different nursing facilities belonging to the Victor’s Corporate Group, the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Saarland, the Saarland Heilstätten GmbH and the Elisabeth Retirement and Nursing Home in Saarbrücken-Dudweiler.
- Training allowance between approx. 800 and 1.200 Euro per month
- Boarding school style: students live in accommodations from 580 Euro per month (double occupancy) including full board and service charges
- Contact person on site
- Shuttle service to work (extra fee)
- Organisation of extracurricular activities
